What's this thing all about anyway?
Right. Simply put, we are a nonprofit organization dedicated to generating conversations about film in Brevard and beyond. Click HERE to read more about our mission, as well as wild ravings about how important and unique we believe the medium of film to be.
So are you a movie theater or what?
We’re not a full-time arthouse theater, at least not yet! We screen at least two first-run (i.e. newly-released) films a month, usually Sundays at 1:00, 4:00, and 7:00. In these first-run screenings, what you'll find is a beautiful assortment of narrative, documentary and foreign films. But the common thread of every single film is that they've been painstakingly curated for quality; you'll never regret coming to a show.
But first-run films on Sundays are just the beginning! We're in the process of putting together two other series: one to expose younger viewers to the incredible world of international animation, and another series with an emphasis on local and regional issues, accompanied by panel discussions and partnerships with local like-minded organizations and companies.
Who’s behind this?
My name is Philip Henry, and in late 2015, I moved here from Durham with my wife MacKenzie and two tiny kids. Brevard had everything we were looking for...except a way to watch independent film. Pisgah Film Project sprung from the belief that there were others like me, searching for that community of passionate film-lovers.
I can't wait to see where this project leads, and as a filmmaker myself, I'm incredibly excited to meet you at a future screening! Cheers!
Where can I buy tickets?
Tickets are available to buy online, usually about 2-3 weeks prior to a show. Just visit the CALENDAR page and locate the film you’d like to buy tickets for. Those on our mailing list have access to online purchasing 3 days before they “go public.” If tickets are still available on the day of a screening, you can buy tickets at the screening location (SEARCY HALL, on the campus of BREVARD MUSIC CENTER) 30 minutes prior to showtime. Tickets are $10.
How do I get to Searcy Hall?
Coming from downtown Brevard:
From Caldwell Street, head west (a left turn if coming from Main Street, a right turn if coming from French Broad Street) and travel 0.9 miles.
Turn right onto Andante Lane and travel 0.4 miles.
At the four-way stop, turn right onto “Orchestra Trail” and you will be in the parking lot. Searcy Hall is the building at the rear-left of the parking lot.
The address we publicize, 349 Andante Lane, actually takes you to the main office of Brevard Music Center. Simply follow the signs with the Pisgah Film Project logo and you’ll have no trouble finding us!
